Technology giant, Samsung, has had quite the release week announcing not one, not two or even three new products but four new phones, three from the popular Galaxy range and one new design, the Galaxy Fold.
Galaxy Fold was shown off in full at Samsung’s recent Unpacked hardware event in London on 20th February. Samsung have announced more new technologies, but we’ll just be focusing on the phones, not the new Galaxy Watch Active which will be a direct competitor of the Apple Watch.
So, what’s new? Well let’s talk first about the new and upgraded Galaxy device. There are four new phones in the Galaxy S10 range: the standard Galaxy S10, the bigger Galaxy S10+, a smaller Galaxy S10E and for the first time, a 5G smartphone which will be available to buy later this year.
The new Samsung Galaxy S10 is 93.1% screen which will be great news for commuters who like to watch their favourite films and tv shows on the go. For all the amateur photographers, there is great news for you too. The device will feature three rear camera lenses, one zoom lens, one wide lens and one ultra-wide-angle lens to get more people in your group selfies! But you might need to get saving because the S10 costs a cool £799.
Now let’s talk about the most exciting announcement from the Unpacked event, the Galaxy Fold. Remember when we had flip phones and then these sadly phased out of our lives? Well, the new Galaxy Fold is hoping to give you some flip back in your life. It opens like a book, with a 4.6-inch super AMOLED screen on the front, and then it opens out into a dynamic AMOLED 7.3-inch screen on the inside. The device also has two batteries, one on each side of the phone giving you that extra juice we all need for our daily lives.
A 4G version of the Galaxy Fold is set to go on sale on 26th April and will start at £1,515. Yes, £1,515! A more expensive 5G edition has also been promised for the near future.
These new releases in the technology world are very exciting and I think you can agree with me, that we’ll all be heading to the phone shops to marvel at this amazing leap forward within the mobile phone world.
