From anxiety to solution, the Applewood way!
In July 2022 Reigate Heath Golf Club in Surrey approached Applewood for a quote for a new CCTV system.
Key project requirements
- CCTV in club house to meet licensing mandates
- Quick installation turn around
- User Friendly
Established in 1895, Reigate Heath Golf Club offers a 9 hole, 18 tee course set within 120 acres of special scientific importance. The unique club house and windmill compliment picturesque views over Surrey.
Due to new licensing requirements, CCTV in the club house was needed with a minimum of 31 days storage. Concerns of cost, how long it would take to install and Applewood’s ability to provide such a solution in a speedy and trouble free manor, all had to be addressed.
Sarah Christie, Club Manager said “ The survey was carried out by Adam Chalkly, Director of Applewood Fire & Security. I was very impressed by his professionalism. He was very helpful, nice, and clearly knew his stuff. Each step of the way going above and beyond. It was a really positive experience.”
The survey provided the opportunity to demonstrate the solution and it quickly became clear that not only would the solution meet requirements, but is would in fact add to the golf club’s ability to monitor several tee’s allowing members of staff to quickly identify any delays in play.
Given Applewood’s experience in the Golf and leisure sector, being NSI accredited and Tether Gold Partners, they provided references of other Golf Clubs supported by Applewood in Surrey which not only cemented that they could offer exactly what was required, but exceed expectations by providing a unique solution.
Upon leaving the survey, a no obligation provisional date of installation was provided by Adam to ensure that the client had sufficient time to consider the solution and gain board approval up to the last minute.
The solution was made up of several elements-
- 3 x 8k resolution Black HikVision external bullet cameras with vari-focal lenses to view the Tee’s
- 5 x 4K resolution Black HikVision external turret cameras with fixed lenses around the club house perimeter
- 3 x 4K resolution White HikVision turret cameras with fixed lenses in the club house bar and restaurant areas
- 1 x Tether X Pico 16 Network Video Recorder, notifications service and user data logging
- 1 x 20TB western digital USB hard drive Raid 0 configuration
- 400m External Cat6e CCA cable in black
This combination of manufactures offers cost effective cameras from HikVision and market leading analytic, health monitoring and user management from TetherX.
Upon receiving the official order, Applewood contracted long term industry colleague, Clarry Williams owner of Hunter Security for the labour element of the project. Clarry said “it is a pleasure to work for Applewood, project management is excellent with drawings and detailed specifications always provided, it just makes their installations trouble free. It is clear the customer always comes first for them.”
The installation took place over three days, and the end results speak for themselves.
The user experience is simple and hassle-free providing access to the CCTV via Applewood’s website using two factor authentication or the TetherX App. With remote support ability built directly into the platform, the team at Applewood are always available to assist.
Adam Chalkly, owner of Applewood Fire & Security said, “I always offer reference for our work and highlight that we are industry accredited by NSI but to be honest, our long-term clients that have been with us year on year are the silent trustees of our success, we don’t just install and dash, we stand by our solutions.”
